Mattress….Sex: Connecting the Dots!

Mattress….Sex: Connecting the Dots!

Well as the title suggest this post is going to be about one of the most taboo thing, at least in Malaysia, SEX. As much and as kinky as certain sex might get; in the bathroom, in changing rooms, on sofas or offices; most of sex are done in the bedroom and most of the time on top of a bed.

On top of the bed there is the mattress where the action happens. A great mattress can help to enhance the sexual experience and enhance the lust you have with your partner. But your mattress could be your best side kick during sex as well. Why? It is because you wouldn’t want the mattress to cause you to fall in certain positions or a mattress that makes a lot of noise from spoil spring mattress or a sinking mattress that makes you unable to get into the right position.

On top of that, your mattress would not be medium for sex to happen as most of the time the mattress is also couples lay down to rest and embrace each other to sleep or rest. The mattress should be able to support you and your partner to rest before there is a “round 2”. What are the criteria’s to consider then when buying a good mattress for sleep and sex?

  1. Ample support.

A firmer mattress will hold itself up steadier and better when your partner gets on top of it into positons. A mattress that is too soft will sink in hence making you lose posture or wasting energy keeping your balance. But the firmer mattress shouldn’t be too hard that would compromise your sleep comfort as well. Most mattress without a pillow top or memory foam is not recommended for firm support.

  • Foam Edging Support.
Foam Edging

Foam edging usually comes together with pocketed spring mattress only but as of late many other companies have included this in their regular or bonnel spring mattress. These edgings are good to keep your spring mattress supported on the edge, just in case you sit at the edge of the bed for whatever reasons, *raised eye brows*. This is because the last thing you want is you or your partner falling off the bed when there is a rhythm going. Foam edging are usually firmer than the rest of the mattress. This functions to support the springs when we sit on it or are doing things on it. It also helps us from falling off the bed when we sleep at night.

  • The Bounce
  • two person on the bed

Most action during sex are in the movement of a bounce. So a mattress should complement this motion and not work against you. The only type of mattress that would do this are spring mattress. No, not memory foam mattress or latex or just regular foam mattress. Spring mattress will also give zonal supports to you when sleeping and helps you during sex to keep the rhythm as well.

  • Durability

Let’s be honest a mattress is kind of a medium high investment and the last thing we want is a broken mattress in 4 months after its purchase. Sex is quite aggressive in some way, especially when the lust is high. So a mattress that doesn’t break “under the pressure” is a good one. There are times when a mattress spring breaks during sex causing it to sink when they sleep on it later. But how do you look for this? You can easily judge its durability by the warranty that comes with the mattress. It shows how confident the manufacturers are with their product. If a spring mattress that comes with a 5 year warranty, forget it because the last thing you want is the spring poking your back while you are with your partner.

Well there you have it, the basic guide to buying a mattress for your love nest while it becomes your daily sleep mattress. But do understand, the right mattress for your sleep and a love bed is very different.

Mattress Brands: What Is The Difference?

Mattress Brands: What Is The Difference?

There are over 1000 mattress brands in the market which has prices ranges across the board. There was also a mattress company that custom make mattress to you and your partner’s sleeping style. But all of these aside it is easy to get confused as more established and popular brands will have almost similar products but with a lot of price difference.

This post is to help you decide on what brand’s to buy and what are the factors to take into consideration before you take the plunge into buying the “best deal”? Let’s get into it.

Distributor or Agents

Our Store Front

Most mattress companies depend on local distributors to help them sell their mattress. Even in furniture fairs companies like King Koil, Slumberland or even Serta will get a local furniture store (their distributor) to set up a store for them to run the fair. This is important as they are the company that will help you when there is a problem with your mattress. For these local distributors, it is important to check the location of their office/store is as it will determine how fast they are able to attend to your faulty mattress. Some companies will do the after sales service themselves while some would require their distributor to help collect and deliver the mattress back to the factory.

This will determine how long it would take for your faulty mattress to be taken to be repaired and to be returned to you. Imagine a company with its distributor or the mattress factory in another part of town and it takes 1 month for them to complete the repair process while spending 1 month sleeping on the floor.

Reliable Brand with Proven Track Record

The subtitle itself, I am sure you know what this means. But it does not mean not giving the new guys a chance to proof themselves but when you are making decisions to buy expensive mattress, you should consider this point. A company with a long service record will be able to attend to your problems very quickly without much hassle.

New mattress companies tend to drag their service time due to the fact that they have limited resources to attend to all their customer’s needs. I am sure many people would remember the brand called Snoozz that went crazy with marketing and almost everyone knew about them. But where are they now? We no longer see them any more do we?

Fun Fact: Mattress from a reliable brand will not sink or break within the first five years.

Don’t Be Tricked By Great Deals

Furniture Fairs Where “Great” deals are found.

Like most money games (JJPTR or MBI), some awesome deals may not be as awesome as it seems. They are made to look like a great deal because they have high profit margins on them. We have surveyed furniture fairs to find brand that sounds like are imported mattress but coming up with a full bed set with free pillows, bolsters, mattress protectors and with premium bed sheets to go with it at insanely good bargain prices. But once we tried the mattress, we realize that there are way better mattress sold for that price with better built quality and better materials.

International Brands

You have worked for the past 5 years with your fingers to the bone and now you are reaping the fruits of your labour. You want to splash on a proper mattress for you and your partner. You will be tempted to look at proper imported mattress like from Hilker and Simmons. We would like to recommend for you to look at more general mattress companies you see in Malaysia such as King Koil. They too have such mattress that is able to compete with those companies. The only difference is these mattresses they do are customized to suit the local. Hilker and Simmons are built to suit the western customer and may not be able to provide you with support you need.

While King Koil’s factory has been in Malaysia since 1983 with a research facility to suit the locals average weight and height, so it would provide the proper chiropractic support. They have store facilities all around Malaysia which would make repairs and services much faster when something goes wrong with your mattress.

These are just a few tips for you to consider before buying your next mattress at a fair. If you wish to have a company with a good service track record, we are always here to help.
